T-ForM - First time right production for the thermoform industry by introducing a predictive mould design and manufacturing system

Project summary

The thermoforming process is at the present moment based on craftsmanship and an iterative trial and error approach. To improve the state of affairs of the European Thermoform industry structurally and fight competition effectively, the T-ForM consortium is initiating this Collective Research project on a European level that will enable this industry to reduce throughput times and enable production First Time Right against lower costs. Facts & Figures

It is the aim of the T-ForM project to enable "First Time Right" production and to realise a throughput time reduction of 40%. If the project proves to be successful, the trial and error approach will become obsolete. In an ideal situation, the engineering, mould making and production costs could be reduced significantly.
